On the morning of November 12, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Finland and China, the Jiangsu-Finland Business Matchmaking Event was held in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (pilot FTZ). A Finnish business delegation of nearly 90 people from more than 40 Finnish companies attended the event. It was the largest Finnish delegation ever to visit Jiangsu Province.
The event was jointly hosted by Finland Investment Promotion Bureau, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce and Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai, and organized by JBNA Administrative Committee and Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce. Jiangsu has been Finland’s important partner province in China, and through this event both regions aim at a continuous boom in partnership.
In his speech, Sun Jin, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, said that Jiangsu and Finland have a sound foundation and a great potential for cooperation. Entrepreneurs present here have the willingness, reasons and common practical needs to push forward the cooperation.
Mr. He Langming, Consul-General of Finland in Shanghai, opined that this event is of great significance to many enterprises in Finland. At home of an innovative country, Finnish enterprises can provide advanced services in new energy, medical treatment and environmental protection, and we enterprises are eager to establish continuous cooperation with outstanding Chinese counterparts.
Ding Aimin, Director of Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, mentioned in his speech that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary, we witnessed closer high-level exchanges between the two countries, leading the bilateral relations to a fast track and accordingly providing a strong driving force for deepened cooperation between Finland and Nanjing. We both get along smoothly and fruitfully in multiple fields. Before long, Promotion Office of Nanjing Urban Internationalization readily granted Mr. He Langming as "Zijin Friendship Ambassador of Nanjing Urban Internationalization" as in its first batch, which meant to jointly promote the bilateral cooperation at all fronts, realizing mutual learning, mutual connectivity and mutual benefit.
Lin Qikun, Deputy Director of JBNA Administrative Committee, introduced the economic and social development, institutional innovation advantages, geographical location leverage and safe business environment of Jiangbei New Area. As a pilot FTZ, JBNA has become a new hot-spot for foreign investments. Be one who operates in Jiangsu for long, or who starts up as Finnish enterprises, one can find new development opportunities in Jiangsu and Nanjing market.
Representatives from Finland Investment Promotion Bureau and enterprises of both sides made their promotion at the event. It was followed by view-exchanges on 45 projects, covering manufacturing, environmental protection, energy, artificial intelligence, life and health, electronic communications, wood industry, sports, metallurgy, shipbuilding, among others.
